"We believe that all jobs are important, so, a failed light
is just as important to an old lady as a re-wire of an outbuilding
is to a builder."
All jobs must carry the same high standard irrespective of its
surroundings. I ensure the work is completed correctly and that
it is thoroughly checked before I put my name and certificate on
the consumer unit.
| I give honest advice; care what the customer thinks, and endeavour
to ensure the customer ends up with what they want and not what
the electrical contractor wants. |

The business was founded in 1981 having gained experience and expertise
for 18 years. After serving an apprenticeship in research I became
an electrical engineer officer in the merchant navy. I went on to
work for LUCAS C.A.V. as an electrician on automatic machine tools
and factory maintenance for 6 years and progressed to foreman for
2 years. Like many people I decided it was time I went alone and
set up my own business, 'P.A.Cheney'.
As a member of the N.I.C.E.I.C. (The National Inspection Council
for Electrical Installation Contracting) I have annual inspections
on installations and receive spot-checks on the work that I do.
Customers can use this independent watchdog of the industry to confirm
our installations are spot on. I hold full insurance and have up
to date knowledge of current regulations. I am qualified for self-assessment
with UKAS Certification and a member of the Institute of Incorporated
Engineers (A.I.I.E.). Even if you require tests and inspection work
on garages, I am qualified as 'Competent Electrical Contractor and
Petrol Filling Stations' with the Petroleum Training Federation
(PTF) certificate.
